This is a painting of a traditional Maneki-neko (Lucky Cat or Calling Cat). These cats are symbols of good luck or prosperity. You may see them in businesses and restaurants near their entrances. The cat is depicted with a paw raised in a beckoning pose or gesture. A raised left paw is to beckon customers; a raised right paw is to increase wealth. Both paws raised is for both success in business and wealth. We've been told both paws raised is also viewed as a sign of protection. They're traditionally white but may be seen in different colors. Each color represents something different. Here's your opportunity to paint your own Lucky Cat!

▪️White = good luck or good fortune
